Eagels Nest

The Eagle’s Nest, or Kehlsteinhaus, is a historic mountain retreat perched at 1,834 m above sea level on Kehlstein in the Obersalzberg near Berchtesgaden, Bavaria. Commissioned in 1938 as a diplomatic teahouse for Hitler and his guests, it showcases distinctive alpine architecture set against the dramatic backdrop of the Bavarian and Austrian Alps.

Accessible today by a winding mountain road, special bus service, and a carved tunnel leading to an antique brass elevator, the Eagle’s Nest functions as a panoramic restaurant and viewpoint. Visitors come to marvel at its sweeping vistas of surrounding peaks and valleys, experiencing both its natural beauty and its complex history
